Swimming Provision:
Swimming will resume from Autumn 2021 following previous cancellation from March 2020 over the height of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Previously we had planned to focus swimming provision to Year 5 over the autumn term and Year 4 over the spring and summer with top-up provision for any Year 6 children not meeting the 25 metre, surface dive and sculling expectations. This we are having to adapt as none of our Year 5 and 6 children have been able to complete our swimming programme.
In 2021-22 all year 6 children will swim on Friday afternoon's over the Autumn term for a 10 week block starting on Friday 10th September. Year 5 children will swim in the Spring and Summer term's each Friday afternoon for a total of 20 weeks. Any children in Year 6 not meeting the standard at the end of the Autumn term will receive free top-up swimming over the Summer term curtesy of the Sports Premium Grant.
In 2022-23 we hope to revert back to our original plan with Year 5 children swimming in the Autumn and Year 4 in the Spring and Summer with top-up swimming for those in Year 6 also in the Summer.
More information and details will go out to parents from the school office closer to the time via ParentMail.
