At Takeley, every child deserves the opportunity to achieve their best and become confident, resilient, and happy. We are proud to be an inclusive school where all children are equally valued, and we have high expectations for every learner.
Our Inclusive, Nurturing Approach
We work in partnership with you. Your child's well-being is our primary concern. We believe that when parents, teachers, and our SEND team work together, we can provide the very best support for your child.
We identify needs early. When a child needs extra help, we act quickly. We'll always share any concerns with you and work together to find the right support.
We provide personalised support. Every child is different, so we tailor our support to meet individual needs. This might include:
- Quality first teaching with work pitched at the right level
- Small group or one-to-one support
- Specialist interventions
- Support from our learning mentors
- Advice from external specialists
Your child's voice matters. We involve children in decisions about their learning and support. They help set their own targets and tell us what's working well.

Our Open Door Policy
You can speak to your child's class teacher at any time, or contact our team directly:

- We offer regular parent consultation meetings
- If your child has a Support Plan this is reviewed every term with you
- If your child has an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), we hold an Annual Review meeting
How We Support Well-being
We recognise that some children need a trusted adult to talk to. Our Takeley Team provide this support, alongside:
- Interventions to build self-esteem and social skills
- Personal, Social, Health and Citizenship Education (PSHCE)
- Extra-curricular ativities and clubs
- Support from external agencies when needed
High Quality Teaching for All
We use evidence-based teaching approaches to ensure every child can access learning. Our teachers plan carefully to match work to your child's needs, and we provide specialist resources and equipment where needed.
Fully Included
We are committed to inclusion. Your child will be fully included in all aspects of school life, including school trips and activities. We make reasonable adjustments to ensure everyone can participate.
